Does material wealth fulfill Abraham’s Blessings?
There is an established argument within the Church movement that the material wealth of the US and Britain implies that they have been blessed as descendants of Abraham. While I have strong doubts about the genetics argument, could this material wealth be a blessing because of God’s promise to Abraham?
How do you categorize the Babylonians, Egyptians, Romans and others who were very wealthy and powerful but were never seen as descendants of Abraham. We should read Duet 28 more closely. I think any nation that gets those blessings would need to be following God’s law fully not just some areas adopted from Roman Christianity.
What you do you think? This is a subject worth checking out..

When the devil tempted Jesus when he was on the fast in the desert, he said if you worship me I’ll give you the whole world and its riches (I’m paraphrasing). This proves that not all wealth comes from God, or from following God’s law. There are other spiritual sources of wealth. Notice how the Babylonians, Egyptians, and Romans wealth never lasted (as a nation/as a people), but look at the wealth of Abraham’s decendants – the Jewish and Islamic people how thier wealth is still with them, that is, as a nation, as a people…talking about the oil in the middle east and the wealth of the Jewish people.

HI Lorraine:
There is also a world domination factor in Abraham’s promise that the people called Jews and Arabs do not have today. Yes, they may have some wealth but they don’t call the shots in the world. Israel is hardly existing as they are constantly threatened by their neighbors. By the way, most Arabs are very poor as you can see with the uprisings over there.
I think the promise to Abraham is primarily fulfilled in Christ coming as the messiah as he will eventually take over the government of this world and have universal prosperity.
